Mixed Martial Arts is now one of the most popular fighting styles in the US and the world, rivaling traditional boxing, kickboxing, and wrestling in popularity. Similarly to kickboxing, this one is also a generic mashup of miscellaneous martial arts, coming both from Japan and Brazil.
The main difference between MMA and Kickboxing lies in the fact, that just like Jiu-jitsu, MMA allows for an elaborate number of ground fight positions, which kickboxing does not. This makes MMA the most universal generic martial arts of them all, as it basically develops both striking, chokehold, joint-locking, and ground fighting techniques under one banner…
While usually practiced either by semi-pros or by men who previously were into some other martial art, MMA always welcomes the newbies. Our instructor will make you feel proud of what you can do in a fight, making your MMA-styled offense perfect for preventive self-defense!

Karate originally appeared in Japan and nowadays it is being practiced primarily for sports and recreational purposes… This martial art consists of such fighting elements as the typical kicking, punching, and elbows and also incorporates open-hand techniques. The main focus is on deflecting an attack, which makes it primarily a self-defense art, as opposed to MMA.

Wushu is a Chinese martial art that emphasizes both traditional and modern performance-based techniques. The term wushu is Chinese for “martial arts” (武 “wu” = military or martial, 术 “shu” = art) that is used to encompass Chinese martial arts in general, which is commonly known as kung fu in Western societies. It includes a wide range of techniques such as kicks, punches, sweeps, throws, and joint locks, as well as acrobatics and weapon-based techniques. Wushu training develops physical fitness, agility, balance, and coordination, as well as a mental discipline, focus, and creativity. It is often practiced as a sport and can be performed individually or in groups.
Modern Wushu
Chinese martial arts can be traced back thousands of years, however modern or contemporary wushu was developed and standardized in the late 1940s. It is the national sport of China and is both an exhibition sport (taolu) and a full-contact sport (sanda).
Boxing is a combat sport that involves striking an opponent with punches to the upper body and head while wearing gloves. It emphasizes speed, power, and accuracy, as well as footwork, head movement, and defensive skills. Boxing training develops physical fitness, strength, endurance, and agility, as well as a mental discipline, focus, and self-confidence. It is a popular sport and can be practiced recreationally or competitively.
This martial art is by far the most limited one, restricting you to the use of your fists only, with no leg or head kicking allowed. It enhances a person’s reaction time while making trainees sharper with their hands and quick on their feet to keep their balance. Boxers are usually very lean, tough, and solid. They are not as thick or heavy as bodybuilders because they rely heavily on their agility in the ring.
